In the role as a Team Leader, you will work close to product development teams, developers and DevOps engineers.
As a Team lead, you will have an important role, where both your leadership skills and your system skills in production applications and supporting them in a mission critical 24/7 environment are of great importance. You will have overall responsibility for mid-level application management for SG Digital websites, installation and configuration of applications. You perform application installation according to SG Digital processes, as well as provide insights into development and product management organizations. You are responsible for installation, maintenance and monitoring of the systems. You will work with troubleshooting and problem solving with focus on system availability, performance and latency. In addition, you create and maintain RunBooks, define, improve, and track Service Level Objectives.You are also responsible for ensuring that system capacity is monitored and considered when planning and ensuring that incidents are handled within the agreed SLA. The role also includes documenting from application operating perspectives, knowledge basics, user manuals, installation instructions, basic case analyzes, incident and problem instructions.
You will be responsible for contributing with operational insights towards development and product management organizations. Verifying releases on an operational level, participate in preparations of releases before live deployment. Handle incoming incidents, change requests and problems and handle documentation from an application operations perspective. Knowledgeable in base articles, operation manuals, deployment instructions, root cause analyses, incident and problem notes.
You will also be performing installations of applications according to your company’s release process and be responsible for documentation from an application operations point of view.
Who you areWe are looking for a graduate / university degree within a relevant field and between five to ten years of experience working in a role as a team lead or technical lead role in a similar area. You have a deep knowledge of production environments, Linux and network management. The role requires experience in monitoring and application management, as well as basic skills in database operations. You have good knowledge regarding databases, storage and open source solutions for configuration management, ex. Ansible. Deep understanding in elastic scaling, service discovery such as HashiCorp Consul, log management in ELK and Graylog and cloud management, HashiCorp or Terraform. Furthermore, you have knowledge of Kubernetes, Mesos, Git, Jenkins, Docker and AWS.
The role requires experience in monitoring and application management, as well as basic skills in database operations. Understanding in any of the following scripting languages; PHP, Python, Perl or Ruby, as well as understanding ITIL.
As a person, you are flexible, driven by working with improvements. Having social competence both in communication and in team building is crucial as SG Digital is a team oriented company. You have previous experience from a similar role either as a team lead or from a technical lead role. Leadership qualities will be crucial for this role where you have the main responsibility for the day to day technical operational work. You are described as professional, passionate for business and with good problem-solving skills, you have a high technical understanding, with a good documentation ability and prefer to work in a dynamic organization with transaction intensive systems.
You have very good knowledge in English, both verbally and in writing.
